Our Story

The idea for Olmaz Jewelers came to best friends Elie Abou-Rjeileh and Jack Daoud while living in Lansing, Michigan. Both had many years of experience in the fine jewelry industry and hoped to relocate their families and become entrepreneurs. After a long search for the perfect location, they decided on the Triangle, and more specifically, Chapel Hill. Drawn to the beauty, diversity, and energy of the area, they knew this would be the perfect spot for the independent, family-owned and operated jewelry store they hoped for. They are excited and proud to call Chapel Hill the home of Olmaz Jewelers. Centrally located in the Eastgate Shopping Center in Chapel Hill and minutes from I-40, Olmaz Jewelers is easy to access from Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh.

Our Team

Elie Abou-Rjeileh, Owner

Elie Abou-Rjeileh grew up in the beautiful mountains of Lebanon and moved to the United States at the age of seventeen to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree at Michigan State University. While attending MSU, Elie worked at a family-owned jewelry store in Lansing, Michigan, and that is where his love for jewelry began. With over 15 years of jewelry store management experience and a Graduate Diamond Certification from the Gemological Institute of America, his entrepreneurial side persuaded him to move to North Carolina where he founded Olmaz Jewelers of Chapel Hill with his best friend, Jack Daoud.

Jack Daoud, Owner

Jack Daoud is a co-owner of Olmaz Jewelers and has enjoyed a sixteen-year career in the luxury jewelry business that started in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating from Michigan State University, Jack started his career at a family-owned jewelry store. He soon discovered his interest in fine jewelry and Swiss timepieces and found a passion for building relationships and trust with his clients. His time at several family-owned and operated jewelry stores consisted of both management and sales, which lead to a solid knowledge and understanding of designer jewelry brands. In his free time, Jack loves spending time with his family, traveling, and is a big sports fan.

Ian Jachym, Bench Jeweler

A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, and with a decade of experience as a bench jeweler, Ian attended the New Approach School for Jewelers in Tennessee where he grew his skills as a jeweler and deepened his love for travel and the outdoors. Ian loves using his Leica microscope and Sisma laser welder while he works, but when he’s not in the shop he enjoys watching and playing soccer. While Ian is known for his amazing work as a jeweler, he also shows great selflessness towards his coworkers and dedication to Olmaz Jewelers.

Taylor Williamson, Jewelry Specialist

Born and raised in a small town in North Carolina, Taylor has found herself enchanted with the jewelry industry even though Olmaz has been her first experience in the business. She is currently pursuing a certification from the Gemological Institute of America and is excited to grow her knowledge of jewelry. When she is not working with customers or taking classes, you can often find her relaxing and enjoying time at home with her sweet Maltese Gigi. Taylor’s humor and kindness can never go unnoticed by her coworkers, but it is her true passion for clients that is remarkable.

Jordanne Arace, Jewelry Specialist

Jordanne is from Greensboro, North Carolina, and is currently working on her Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has an interest in pursuing a career in financial law or policy after graduation but says it will be hard to find a job she could possibly love more than working in jewelry. When she’s not here at Olmaz or on campus at UNC, she can be found trying new restaurants in the triangle area to review on her food Instagram or spending time with her sorority, alpha Kappa Delta Phi.
